Sharing Pain

Letter #11

My daughter Sylvia and I are just said the last good-by to my brother.  We patted his hands, kissed his forehead and waited for his two sons to arrive.

What should I say to them?  No words could alleviate their pain.  We just hugged, and hugged and hugged…

I stopped looking for beautiful words to console somebody who is suffering, I just give big hugs.  I try to put all my love and energy in my hugs.
