Soluble Fiber and LDL

The 2 main ways LDL is lowered by ingestion of soluble fiber are:

1. If in the intestine there is soluble fiber, the bile, rich in LDL, is excreted with the feces instead of being reabsorbed.

2. Soluble fiber lowers the glycemic response, which lowers the insulin production, therefore the liver makes less cholesterol
