Coffee could help protect against cardiovascular disease. A recent study reports that people drinking 3-5 cups of coffee a day were 41% less likely to show sign of coronary artery calcium than non coffee drinkers.  The calcification is an early indicator  of atherosclerosis , the cause of coronary artery disease, the number one killer of Americans.  In addition, studies show that coffee intake is associated with lower risk of type 2 diabetes.
